DUNCAN COE - turtledove founder, writer, co-director, producer
Duncan Coe is a writer, director and actor based in Austin, Texas. His theatre roots run deep - he started acting in high school, earning a state championship in competitive theatre through the Texas University Interscholastic League. He went on to go to St. Edward’s University in Austin, where he graduated with a BA in Theatre Performance and English Writing and Rhetoric. He is the co-owner of TurtleDove Films and works as a ghostwriter and in production when he's not making his own movies. In 2014 he was a finalist for Trigger Street Productions’ Jameson First Shot competition starring Uma Thurman. He co-starred in National Geographic's The Long Road Home.
ELENA WEINBERG - turtledove founder, co-director, line producer
Elena Weinberg is co-owner/CEO of TurtleDove Films. She has been acting for 26 years and directing for 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from St. Edward’s University. She produces, production manages, directs, acts and crowdfund manages in Austin, TX. She is the co-creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed Austin, TX based webseries, #ATown (Best Webseries, Austin Chronicle Best of 2015). She has helped filmmakers raise over $70k through crowdfunding and freelances in the AD Department in Austin on Print Ads, Independent Films and National Commercials. Recent Crew credits include: Time Trap (2nd AD) and Fear The Walking Dead (Second Team). Recent Acting credits include: Carmela (supporting) in Vials streaming on Amazon and Maggie (supporting) in Good Feels On Wheels produced by SPI Productions. When she's not taking on the world one tweet at time, you can find her watching basketball and drinking wine with her cats. Go Spurs Go!
TAYLOR JUAREZ - turtledove core member, producer, sound
Taylor is a wedding videographer and social media manager. She currently works as a videographer and the Studio Manager for Ladybird Studios. She is also an aspiring filmmaker who loves to act, direct, write and produce. She has been a core member of the TurtleDove Films team since 2015 and has produced, ran sound, assistant directed and production assisted on various TurtleDove projects. When she's not shooting weddings or rockin' it on set, you can find her drinking coffee, doing yoga and endlessly binging Grey's Anatomy.
ERIC CALBAT - turtledove core member, sponsorship coordinator
Eric is an actor based in Austin, Texas who has been a core member of the TurtleDove Films family since The 12 Month Project in 2014. One of his favorite roles includes playing Laertes in a local production of Hamlet, where he met Elena (Ophelia) which started it all. With TurtleDove, he has produced, ACed, been props master and acted. When he's not playing Jack of All Trades with TurtleDove, you can find him hangin' with his little dude, Leo, and cheering on the Mavericks. It's an enternal TD conflict.
BRYAN EVANS - turtledove core member, scripty/DIT
Bryan Evans is a Texas native and resident of Lockhart, Texas. His TurtleDove roots run deep, having participated in several shorts during the 12 Month Project and ran sound & produced #ATown. An avid movie aficionado, when he’s not working on set, he’s catching up on the latest in cinema and entertainment. He likes BBQ. Duh.
CHARLIE PEARCE - director of photography
Charlie spent most of his teenage years playing with, and experimenting on, a variety of cameras. He graduated from UT-Austin with degrees in photojournalism and film production. He now works as a freelance cinematographer where he shoots narrative, documentary, and commercial content. His work has received nods from College Press Photographer of the Year, The Austin Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities, and the TMC London Film Festival. This is his first project with TurtleDove Films.
DANIELLE EVON PLOEGER - turtledove core member, hair/makeup, wardrobe
Danielle Evon Ploeger is an Austin-based actress and wardrobe consultant. After attending the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, she graduated with a BA in Theatre Performance from St. Edwards. She has been working professionally in film and theatre since 2010. Wardrobe credits include Special (Netflix), One Hand Clapping, 200 Hours, and Social Animals. She starred in Last Girl Standing, a slasher genre film that was critically acclaimed by Film International, Fangoria, and Bloody Disgusting. She is also a die-hard Spurs fan.
MICHAEL SEMPERT - Composer
Michael Sempert's music is equal parts heart and craft. He has composed music for film and TV, including original score for feature films Jaywalking (2018) and Homestate (2016). His original songs have been licensed for TV by major networks including CBS, NBC, ABC and Netflix. Sempert co-founded West Channel, a commercial music house whose clients include Facebook, Disney Jr, and Visa as well as the non-profits Change Heroes and the UN Foundation. As an artist and a songwriter, he's created an expansive body of work, spanning folk and Americana to synth-pop, as well as electronic, orchestral and chamber music.
TOM CAVANAUGH - scripty, sound mixer, key PA
Tom Cavanaugh is a nomad with lust for film that started at a young age. Always conjuring stories and carrying his camera; he finds cinematic moments wherever he lands. He is a recent Austin transplant and this is his first involvement with TurtleDove Films. His first directorial effort, the short film Trivial, comes out in 2018.
CORTNEY DEANGELO - contributing artist
Cortney DeAngelo, a proud founding member of the Austin Tech Ninja Death Squad, is a mosaic recipe of improvisational teching and performing. She is 1/8th of ¡Zarzamora!, 1/3rd of Tech Nightmare, half of TylerCo, and 100% native Austinite. Cortney’s guilty pleasures include the luxury of Amy’s Ice Cream, the thrill of video poker, and the gloriousness of painting and collage. Her favorite movie is The Running Man, her favorite book is White Oleander, and her favorite project is the one she’s currently working on. This is her first collaboration with TurtleDove Films.
TIM GRIGGS - sound editor, foley artist, sound design
Tim Griggs is a musician and sound artist based in Austin, Texas. He offers a full range of services for film production including composition, sound design, foley, ADR recording, production sound and audio restoration. He is known for his work on Adam (Sound Editor, Composer, Sound Mixer), Keeping' It Weird (Sound Editor, Composer), Apple Seed (Sound Editor, Composer, Foley Artist) and Sleep No More (Boom Operator). This is his first TurtleDove production.
